Colombian Visa Fees Remain Unchanged for 2025

Bogotá, Colombia - [13/01/2025] - Despite being in 2025, Colombian visa fees remain the same as those established in 2023. If you are planning to visit or reside in Colombia, it is essential to understand how these fees are calculated and charged.
"Resolution 0576 of 2023, which establishes the current fees, presents the prices in US dollars (USD) and euros (EUR). However, it is important to clarify that the Colombian Chancellery system charges exclusively in Colombian pesos (COP)," explains Camila Ocampo, an expert immigration lawyer. "The amount in COP is calculated using the exchange rate of the day, based on the price in USD. This means that the EUR prices that appear in the resolution are not used in practice."
Another important aspect to keep in mind is that the visa table in the resolution can be confusing for those unfamiliar with immigration terminology. Visas are classified by type (V, M, R, etc.), which can make it difficult to identify the specific visa needed.
To facilitate the understanding of the fees, a detailed table with information on each type of visa and its cost in USD is presented below:
EXEMPTIONS IN VISA FEES. The following exemptions and special fees will apply to visa fees:
The Migrant visa issued to a foreigner recognized as a refugee in Colombia, in consideration of the Convention on the Status of Refugees, signed in Geneva in 1951, and approved by Law 35 of 1961, will be exempt from the visa fee in both stages.
The fee to be paid at the issuance stage of a visitor visa for ship crew members will be exempt for those members of fishing vessels whose activity takes place in the areas surrounding San Andrés, Providencia and Santa Catalina.
In accordance with the provisions of article 17 of Law 1203 of 2008, the fee corresponding to the issuance stage of the visa for Ecuadorian nationals will be free. The fee to be paid at the study stage will be twenty-three (23) euros if requested in the euro zone and Cuba, and thirty (30) US dollars if requested in the rest of the world.
Nationals of Japan and the Republic of Korea will only pay the fee corresponding to the study stage of the application, which will be the one corresponding to the class and/or type of visa requested.
Nationals of the Republic of Peru, who settle in the basins of the Amazon and Putumayo rivers, will only pay the fee corresponding to the study stage of the application, which will be the one corresponding to the class and/or type of visa requested.
Nationals of the Plurinational State of Bolivia will only pay the value corresponding to the application study stage for visitor or migrant visas authorized exclusively to carry out activities within the framework of an academic training program, which will correspond to twelve (12) euros if requested in the Euro zone and Cuba, and sixteen (16) United States Dollars if requested in the rest of the world.
The fee to be paid at the study stage of a visitor visa requested exclusively to carry out activities within the framework of an academic training program will be twelve (12) euros if requested in the Euro zone and Cuba, and sixteen (16) United States Dollars if requested in the rest of the world. The fee to be paid at the issuance stage will be seventeen (17) euros if requested in the Euro zone and Cuba, and twenty-one (21) United States Dollars if requested in the rest of the world.
The fee to be paid at the issuance stage of a "V" type visa in the tourist category or for airport transit will be forty (40) euros if requested in the Euro zone and Cuba, and fifty-two (52) United States Dollars if requested in the rest of the world. The value corresponding to the study stage of the application will be the one corresponding to the visa class requested.
The study of the application and issuance of a "V" type Courtesy visa and a V type Work and Holiday visa, agreed by Colombia with other States through treaties in force, will be free of charge.
The value corresponding to the study and issuance stages of the visa for Spanish nationals will be free.
